LASIK Consultations

LASIK consulting allows patients to get unbiased advice from doctors who do not provide the LASIK treatment. Using LASIK consulting can help patients feel more comfortable with the screening process, since the doctors performing the LASIK consulting are not attempting to win a customer, but providing an independent service.

First in the LASIK consulting process is a screening appointment, where patient undergoes an eye examination with the LASIK consulting doctor. Generally, patients also have their corneal topography tested, so that the doctor conducting the LASIK consulting can determine the extent to which LASIK will help correct vision problems. Based upon initial LASIK consulting test results, the doctor will advise the patient of their suitability for the procedure. Following LASIK consulting, if the patient and doctor agree that LASIK is an option, the doctor performing the LASIK consulting will often help locate a LASIK physician and set up a surgery date. Many LASIK consulting practices also offer follow up exams and services after the procedure is performed. An advantage of LASIK consulting services is the ability to receive pre- and post-operative care from the LASIK consulting doctor, eliminating any possible conflict of interest.
